I am currently a PhD Candidate in Media and Communication studies @

University of Newcastle UponTyne

Researching 21st century technologies and everyday uses, in a very exciting kinda approach! Wait till I am done with the exam and I will share the details.

I am also an Associate Fellow of Advance Higher Education, since May 2024! Goals.

We are not just decorating titles by the way, we are taking intentional steps to improve the learning experience for higher education students by incorporating equality, diversity and inclusiveness in our daily practice. I owe you a full blog post on this one. Keep your eyes peeled.

Mentor at higher education! I have been part of the Access Mentoring Program at The University of Melbourne since 2022. Mentorship is one of the initiatives I will always hold in high regard. So many graduates and young people outside academic institutions could reach their full potential with a little bit of professional guidance and on-going support.

I have taught English Language and literature at junior and senior secondary school levels

• I introduced Language games (Scrabble and word puzzles) as an initiative to improve performance in English language among learners

National Examiner: English Language in the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE)

Achievements

I had the honor to have my thesis model piloted in one of the Subjects I took Media Writing: Rhetoric and Practice, at The University of Melbourne, (2014)

• The thesis proposed the use of Facebook to extend learners’ engagement with educational content beyond formal learning environments. This is a component in advocating development of a participatory curriculum.

Won the Fogarty Foundation Undergraduate Fund  to conduct research on HIV Prevalence among Mobile Workers in Boteti (1999)
